The official starting point for the full, traditional Camino Francés (French Way) is Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, a town in France near the Spanish border. From this picturesque location at the foot of the Pyrenees, the route crosses Spain for approximately 770 km (about five weeks) to reach the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
